Nord Pool Group are looking to strengthen the Market Coupling team by hiring a Director, Market Integration, UK & Ireland, to join our team based in London. 

The Director will be responsible for leading, growing and running all of Nord Pool’s activities related to Market Coupling Services (MCO) in UK & Ireland. This also includes to deal with regulatory authorities and other stakeholders in cooperation with Regulatory Affairs, and active research and input to improve the Nord Pool value proposition.

You will join an ambitious and highly motivated international team with a mission to further grow the most liquid and fast-growing power markets in Europe.

Role and responsibilities:

  • Establish close relations with all TSOs/Interconnector owners related to UK & Ireland to be able to build new business opportunities for Nord Pool
  • Work closely within the MCO department and with other departments in Nord Pool Group to deliver on new opportunities
  • Primary interface to both PDI and Operations related to UK & Ireland
  • Identify new customer needs and requirements
  • Lead local commercial initiatives and activities, from time to time, in alignment with other departments for general commercial development within UK & Ireland.
  • Act as a local spokesperson and political liaison in close cooperation with Director Communication and/or Head of Public and Regulatory affairs
  • Develop new talents in the account management area
  • Drive and develop agreed customer requests
  • Develop plans and strategies to achieve Nord Pools’ overall targets
  • Collaborate with the following functions to hone Nord Pools’ customer offerings:
    • Other departments within MCO
    • Close cooperation with Markets
    • Operations and Shared Service
    • Product Development & Innovation
  • Specifically delivers on the following targets:
    • Revenue for MCO accounts within UK & Ireland
    • Customer satisfaction
    • Input to product development and output in terms of improved VP’s
    • Within the budget
  • Education: High level within Energy, engineering, economics or similar
  • Experience: A commercial background from business sales/stakeholder management. A proven track record and demonstrated achievements is required
  • This position is a corporate level strategic position with the authority to lead and direct working with TSO’s and Interconnector owners, driving achievement of company business targets and successful execution of the corporate strategy. The Director may act as Nord Pool’s local spokesperson acting on instructions from Director Communications or CEO.
