Who are you, what country do you come from and what is your job title?

My name is Edwin de Jong, I am from The Netherlands and work as a DevOps Engineer in Nord Pool AS (Oslo Office).

What do you like most about your job?

I like the variety of tasks that I do, everything from Internal Helpdesk, to Terraforming infrastructure. Not a single day is the same.

What is the hardest part of your job?

Limiting the amount of coffee intake to a normal level. Infrastructure runs on coffee, did you not know?

What is the best thing about working in Nord Pool?

Experienced and friendly colleagues, challenging tasks and always an opportunity to learn new things! Not a day goes by without some friendly banter, good chit-chat at the coffee machine, and sharing stories during lunch.

What is the most exciting challenge you have had during your time at Nord Pool?

Getting to know everyone, remembering everyone's name.

What motivates you?

Automation is a major motivation for me, especially when things run smoothly! Knowing that colleagues smile when I help them out.

What do you think about working in the energy sector?

It's a complex but interesting sector, it amazes me every day how it is all coming together.

How would you describe your co-workers?

Friendly, social and enthusiastic. A healthy mix of cultures, languages and talent.
