Who are you, what country do you come from and what is your job title?

Hello! My name is Elena Volkova. I am from Belarus, but now I live in Finland. I am a Software Developer and currently work with the Intraday trading platform.

What do you like most about your job?

I like challenges. Working in the energy sector and especially for the Intraday platform brings a lot of challenges. Intraday is a 24/7 market, it has complex business logic, and requires good technical skills, so every day here is challenging.

What is the hardest part of your job?

We are running a 24/7 market and sometimes you need to react fast and make sure that production is running smoothly and all the issues are resolved in no time.

What is the best thing about working in Nord Pool?

Diversity, a good atmosphere, and friendly people.

What is the most exciting challenge you have had during your time at Nord Pool?

Every day is a new challenge.

What motivates you?

Interesting tasks and we have many of them coming every day. Working in a team with people easy to talk to and ready to help each other on the way.

What do you think about working in the energy sector?

The energy sector is interesting, complex, and evolving fast. So, new requirements, new development, and new problems to solve are constantly coming.

How would you describe your co-workers?

We have people from many different countries, having different backgrounds and personalities. I would say that we have a good and friendly atmosphere in the team and in the company in general. People are always ready to support you and help if you need it.
